Further Ukraine visa info - If you are planning on travelling to Kiev
you will need a Visa to gain entry to the Ukraine. You cannot travel
to Kiev without one, they simply won't let you in. You must complete
a visa application form which you can get by either sending a stamped
self addressed envelope to :-
The Visa section,
The Embassy of the Ukraine,
78 Kensington Park Road
London W11 2PL.
or you can also ring a automated postal service number, which
is 0906 526 6655 leaving your name and address.
or you can appear in person at the above address, nearest tube
is Notting Hill.
Once you have your application form you will need the following to
complete it: i) a full passport which is to be sent with your application
(passport must have at least 6 months validity left from the date you
leave the Ukraine) ii) 2 spare passport photos iii) a fee of £25
is charged. Cheque or postal orders accepted. iv) a separate
cheque for £10 to cover the handling fee.
Both payable to "The Embassy of the Ukraine" n.b.
the cheques must have your card guarantee number on the back.
Other documents needed are:
i) Confirmation of your hotel booking, (a faxed copy is acceptable).
ii) possibly a tourist voucher - this is confusing but there are a list
of companies who supply them available from the visa section of the
Embassy. Ask when requesting your application form.
It appears visas will either take 10 working days for the embassy to
process or 3 working days - the info was a bit confusing so work on
the 10 day deadline.
Important
When sending your passport etc to them make sure to do it via a recorded
delivery service as the Ukrainian embassy hold no responsibility for
loss of your application.
There is also an automatic fax number you can ring from a machine to
access more information 0906 554 0818. All info above is available on
the following automated number but it will cost you 60p a minute and
may take you about half an hour to hear 0900 188 7749.
One more thing are the health risks that present themselves - Cholera,
Diptheria, Tick-Borne Encephalitis, and Lime disease. Ask your GP for
advice.
Many thanks to the creators of the famous Shankly
banner, Alan who stayed on the phone for ages, and Nige who visited
the embassy, for compiling this information.

Champions League away allocations - we were sent this information from
fellow Eurofans members, the
Schalke Fans Initiative
who had a meeting with their club last night:
The following is taken from the Regulations of the Champions League
2001/2002:
Article 11
Principles of protocol and organisation - Match arrangements
11.01
f) All clubs in the UEFA club competitions must make at least 5% of
the
total capacity of their stadium available exclusively to visiting supporters,
in a segregated, safe area.
If this regulation was in force last season it would have meant Liverpool
fans receiving 4800 tickets for Barcelona as opposed to the 3200 we
did get. We will ask the club to ensure we receive our full allocation
this season under these regulations.
